Helmut Newton

This is Helmut Newton

It comes at no surprise that he loved women and everything about them, he was a photographer of mostly women. Newtons ability to capture the very raw and clique perception of a women and the idea of the body as an object in a surprisingly compassionate way has made him famous then and certainly for years beyond his tragic death in 2004. I have always been a fan of his portraits and have collected many of his photography books. A distinct element of shock fantasy is evident in almost all of his images. It is very easy to spot his work as it seems almost as though each story is just a page in a long and twisted tale of one woman played by several.

Helmut Newtons controversial work is forever imitated and I believe he set the scene for the once impossible.

In keeping with the distinct themes portrayed in Newtons work I took some photos of my friend Lily at Marroondah Dam in Healesville.  Here is one.
